Introduction
Our I.R.D.I. International
sales and market development service are designed for one purpose
and that is to give California wineries a stable avenue into international
markets, one that they can control.
With domestic markets so strained International
markets are the only option left available that boutique wineries
can still sell the volumes as well the price margins needed to stay
in business.
Until now the only avenue available to wineries
were state and a private organization that operated at a Marco level
support and didnft allow the wineries any control over operations.
Understanding that wineries need much more then just the Macro level
of support, NCWTC Northern
California World Trade Center and I.R.D.I. have combined resources
in order to fully support the California wine industry.
In the past wineries wishing to supplement
domestic sales internationally could only chose and organization
that functions at a macro live of involvement. Basically the winery
owner would be given a name of a contact person of that region of
interest. Then the winery would be put on a list with hundreds of
other California wineries. Then once a year that contact ask wineries
to ship their samples for a wine convention that unbeknown to the
winery owners would host thousands of wines from around the world.
And with production mandates by the buyers most of our wineries
are quietly pushed to the side. Of course this is a fact the winery
owners never find out. So the wineries pay their membership dues
and waste their much needed financial resources. Needless to say
boutique wineries need complete support from the gates of the Estate,
to the shelves of the buyers.
Our confidence of support stands because
of the elite talent I.R.D.I. has at itfs management core. First
our president a California Trade specialist for the State of California
lived overseas for a total of 8 years establishing and accumulating
the vital resources to erect support at every stage. For example
in Japan we have the presence of three high level executives all
of which were former executive managers for Mitsui Bussan the worldfs
largest international business firm joined I.R.D.I. Nippon. Mr.
Ohtani, former Deputy Director of Mitsui Bussan Europe (30 years),
now Chief consultant for JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization).
Mr. Horii, executive and team member of Mitsui Bussan was Deputy
Director for North America and Canada (38 years). He also is known
as the author and creator of the publications that are the guidelines
that all Japanese trade firms adhere to when involved in International
business. Mr. Iga, executive director for Mitsui Bussan (20 years)
is now the present director of Japanfs Ministry of Economics and
Business Development. For years these gentlemen have supported the
worldfs largest trade firm and today they have joined us to support
you.
We are an American firm with sales teams
and researchs in target regions dedicated solely to the marketing
of California wines working from the inside. No other platform has
ever existed or been created with the deep penetrating range of
sells and marketing support for California boutique wines at this
kind of depth before. We approach market development with the same
care a winery owners markets their own wines, with a personalized
touch. I.R.D.I. is able to support the wineries at every step of
the process. In short we are allowing wineries to by pass the selling
to distributors, and importers and sell direct to stores and consumers
right at their home. With this kind of control California wineries
can set their own volume of sales.
As numerous winery owners have stated gThis
is a platform that is needed! The Australians, South Africans, and
even Chilean Wineries have direct support to push their wines in
world markets but we do not and wefre missing out on valuable markets
that are needed to replace our losses here domestically California
wineries need to unify and support this much needed platform!h .
(Mr. Vogel Kitfox Vineyards,
Mr. Basei Cacciatore wines)
Governor Schwarzenegger has put forth a considerable
amount of effort in the promotion of California wines internationally.
But without the proper support at a Micro level dedicated to marketing
of California wines advancements will not be permanent.
It is with the unity of I.R.D.I. and NCWTC
that we stand together to create bridges for a brighter California.
